PAYPA and Trick of the Light recognised at the Wellington Theatre Awards

In December 2022, we were surprised and delighted when PAYPA was recognised at the Wellington Theatre Awards, winning the 2022 Excellence Award for Innovative Contribution to the Industry and/or Community. It has certainly been a productive year for PAYPA, having launched the new website, hosted the annual PAYPA Hui (in partnership with Circa Theatre, Capital E and Wellington City Council), launched the inaugural annual PAYPA Awards, facilitated professional development workshops led by sector leaders Sam Scott and Sacha Copland and published What is Quality? Excellence in Performing Arts for/by/with Children and Young People, the first in a series of digital PAYPA Resources for use by Aotearoa’s Performing Arts & Young People sector.

Huge congratulations to Trick of the Light Theatre, who were also recognised at the Wellington Theatre Awards, winning three awards for The Griegol: Composer of the Year, Director of the Year and Production of the Year. The Griegol is scheduled for a month-long tour to the US next March.
