Aya and the Butterfly
Puppetry and music for all the family - a visual feast, changing colour and texture as it moves through the seasons, with plenty of magical puppet moments, music and songs, and giant caterpillar fun! This is a heart-warming, joyful story about a little girl who finds happiness through her experience of the metamorphosis of the Monarch Butterfly. Set within a Muslim family living in Ōtautahi Christchurch, the story is carried along by the underlying themes of healing through time and connection to nature, transporting children on a shared journey with Aya through all her ups and downs, and normalising different cultures in the hope that we can all live together in peace.
“My three kids were enthralled and believe me, it’s hard to find something they all love with an 8-year age gap from youngest to oldest! The evolving set was just stunning, with the garden bursting into full bloom. I was as captivated as the children." Lottie Butcher from Hutt Radio
